    3 Questions about cookers....

My wife and I had a nice little conversation about the number of "cookers" I have. Based on the 6 that I have, she believes I must be "way above the average", if not in the Top 1%.

    Stable Includes:
Off-Set, Pellet, Gasser, Flat Top, Santa Maria (Weber w/ Gaby Insert) and Turkey Fryer

    Questions: (my answers)
    1. How many cookers do you have? (6)
    2. How many do you normally use? (5...rarely use the Turkey Fryer)
    3. If forced to give up a cooker, which one would leave the stable? (Gasser Weber Spirit)

    Bonus Question:
What is your next cooker or which cooker would you like to upgrae/replace? (Weber & Gaby for a real Santa Maria (Titan?? LSG??)

(Note: SWMBO is my biggest fan, super supportive of the Pit and my outdoor cooking shenanigans. I would love to report the results to her and be able to say that I am below average and need to work much harder!)

    1. 12
    2. 7
    3. One of the rarely-used Weber 22's.

Bonus: Upgrade the current Santa Maria to the LSG Santa Maria.

    1. 5+2
    Weber Kettle
    Blackstone Griddle
    Grilla OG pellet smoker
    Pit Barrel Cooker
    Smoke Vault

    4L Deep Fryer
    Induction Burner

    2. I only use the PBC and Smoke Vault for larger get togethers. Everything else is used at least 3 or 4 times a month.

    3. If I had to, probably the PBC just because I only use it to cook chicken halves anymore when we are having people over. But I sure would miss those chicken halves. So Delicious!

Bonus: I’d like to get a Kamado some day but it ain’t gonna be cheap because I’ll want it to be top notch. Just can’t justify a $1000++ purchase at this time.

Hmm. I can’t find it right now but I do remember a Pit email questionnaire from Meathead that he shared the results for and this was one of the questions. Maybe someone else can find the thread? Huskee ?

There seems to be a good # of folks who would like to add an LSG to their line-up!

Turkey fryer. I only added this because you did, lol, I don’t even think about it. It was gifted to me maybe 15 years ago and I think I’ve used it once to boil water for corn on the cob.
          2. 2
          3. Deep fryer

Bonus: The more I chew on the idea I kinda want to add a pellet grill. I’d take the SnS travel grill to upgrade my Smokey Joe too.

I thought the same thing about the turkey fryer -- does that count? If so, I'm +1 too.

I use the SnS travel grill often. It really is an upgrade from the SJ.

Im going to assume you mean outdoor cookers? Otherwise I would have to include the stove, oven, microwave, air fryer, and sous vide circulator.

          1) 4. BGE, griddle, Weber Performer, Weber Smoky Joe.
          2) 2. The BGE and the griddle.
          3) Weber Smoky Joe. I never use it, ever.

          4) IDK, maybe trade the Weber Kettle? Hadn’t thought about it really.

Unless I’m tailgating, the smokey Joe’s purpose is to hold my chimney while it cools down.

Right? At home, I use the Slow & Sear to make a smaller area on the Performer. We don’t go anywhere that I would cook.

          #11
          1. 8 which doesn’t include my 2 fryers
          2. 4
          3. My Hasty Bake HB:250 PRO since I added an SnS kettle.

Bonus: I would giveaway to one of my sons my Smoke Vault for a larger LSG vertical.

            1. Between 5 and 8 ... depending on how you define "cooker" and assuming you mean outdoor only.
            2. 2 to 3 depending on the season and the weather.
            3. One of the two never-used electrics.

Bonus: Don't know but it would have to be large enough to sleep in ... or, at a minimum, to be buried in.

            3. The Blackstone, I can do similar cooks on my GrillGrates or my GriddleGrates or Weber Performer flat top.

That LSG lead time is getting longer and longer

            #14
            1. Weber Summit, Yoder 640, Coleman camp grill (modified with Grill Grates), turkey fryer

            2. 3, turkey fryer on special occasions

            3. I need each one but would sacrifice the turkey fryer

I would add a Santa Maria but the winds here make that impossible.

You could get one, but it would take all the stars to align to ever be able to use it.

Yes, the winds end about 7 pm, so if i want to use it dinner would be at 9. Winds have definitely gotten worse over the past few years. Of course fire restrictions would also shut it down for most of the summer.

            1. 2 (PK300 + Akorn)
            2. 2
            3. 0

            4. Likely a used Akorn (again) a used Primo XL, or a used 20ā€ Kamado Joe to replace the current Akorn when it dies.

Since I have only started like 50 kamado threads
            I doubt anyone is surprised.
