    Wood Chunks?

I looked at the channels and could not find one that I thought was correct so here it is. Please redirect to the right channel as needed.

Anyone familar with these? Looking for chunks to do the 1st cook on the Kettle. 5 pounds at $20. Is that good value and quality? Any advice welcomed.

I haven't bought wood from them, hopefully other member have, an will share their experience.

A quick check of Fruita Wood shows 2"x2" pecan chunks, 15 lbs / $40, but I'm not sure if they ship free, or not...

Page also doesn't list whether it has bark on...

I know many here have purchased from Fruita, an will be better able to answer yer question.

Carolina Cookwood has 9 lb. bags fer $18.95, 10 lb. box fer $22.00, but then there's shippin...

I've bought from Fruita Wood. Great stuff. Mr. Bones The bark is still on. I think it was 9 bucks for shipping for a total of $49.

RichieB Mr. Bones I bought a box of fruita wood chunks back before Thanksgiving. I think it was 47 for the box, peach apple and cherry 3x3 chunks, 20lbs, free shipping. Some of the chunks have bark, but I didn’t notice any bad effects, probably cause there were small amounts of bark on one side of the chunks that had bark on them. I was satisfied with the product, and I will be a repeat customer.

I have a secret wood source. Cherry, hickory and four roses. Right Mudkat?

Lol! That's right. I buy the Four Roses by the cord.

I know with Fruita the best deal is to get the "U pick em",
20lbs of up to 2 types is $47 shipped,
30lbs is $65, up to 3 types, shipped
45lbs is $93, up to 4 types, shipped

2" or 3" chunks, or 6x3" mini splits.

That's a lotta chunks for using with charcoal! Might not be so cost effective using them for fueling your stickburner.
