We're heading out to Notre Dame for the game Saturday afternoon and have one of my students staying with our dog. Last night I made her Lasagne Soup and French Onion Bread. Hopefully it's as delicious as it smelled last night

This reminds me of the scene in the movie ‘The Hundred Foot Journey’ where Hassan is showing Madame Mallory how to whip the eggs for an omelette.

I’m making more candied citrus peel for future stollen bakes.

That bottle in the background contains a by-product of the process - citrus infused simple syrup - destined for future cocktails.

Prior to this year, I had only used the store bought candied fruit in my stollen. Every time I make an ingredient from scratch, I remind myself again why it’s so important even though it makes the cook more laborious and time-consuming. With the exception of the green and red candied cherries, good-bye store bought candied fruit.

Quick stir fry last night. Boneless chicken thighs, snow peas, and red peppers over rice.

I loved it. But it wasn't a big hit with the wife and little kids, so it probably won't make the rotation again.

Big, giant college students will eat 2 pounds of anything.

Sorry the rest of the family didn’t share your taste on this dish.

Did a stuffed burger. 8 oz of my grind of chuck. Stuffed with chopped onion, jalapeño and pepper jack. Mixed with salt, F.I. Dark and Smoke BBQ Rub. Light coat of grapeseed oil. Done in Ninja Foodi. Some fries too. Just the right heat, rather tasty

My first ever chiles rellenos! I had a late harvest of poblanos, and my wife asked for chiles rellenos. How could I refuse? Jen killed the Spanish rice to go with!
