This is sad. I felt I had a spiritual connection with Ole Wade. Thus is the tree of life, I suppose. Wade lived a good life, never made any excuses, just did what had to be done.
This is tough, Bones. My condolences to ya, brother.
Next year at this time I propose a seance in order to bring Ole Wade back into our collective realm once again.

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.

You have my sincere condolences sir... I can totally sympathize with this. Cooked on my last grill until there was barely anything left to cook ON before I purchased my new one. Even after the new one was set up, I still couldn’t pull the trigger on dragging my old friend down to the curb - SO DAMN MANY YEARS of triumphs, and failures, and memories!!! It was like trying to muster the (ahem) "stones" to put a faithful dog down that you’d raised from a pup. My old partner in crime DESERVED better than this!!! :-(
After putting it off and putting it off, a day came along that a young couple moved in next door to me. After being a good neighbor and helping them move in a bit, I noticed something was missing -
"Hey... do y’all happen to need a grill?" :-D
This summer will be their second year using it lol. Glad I found him a new home and family. I smile every time I hear their young daughter chanting "HOT DOG HOT DOG HOT DOG HOT DOGGGGGG!!!" out back. :-)

A very touchin, an movin story, Brother...
Glad yer cooker is still feedin some folks, that's a great thing...
Yup, it ain't easy, like ya said, after so many years together...
I've been purty good bout not jus starin at th empty space where he usedta sit...I'm'a rearrange th cookers out front, so it ain't empty; reckon that'll help, some...
Thinkin bout fillin in th space with this here; it's ridiculously cheap fer what it is, a 1/4" steel 24"x48" offset cooker...might jus make an offer on it...been wantin to take this show on th road, more easily, fer awhile...
It don't help that a guy I know up th road makes these, as well...24"x60 shown...
An a dear friend /Master Certified 6G Welder keeps eggin me on, to let him make me a cooker, ridiculously cheap...
Tryin to wait it out, not do summat on th rebound lol!
Sensory overload, at th moment!
I appreciate yer post; it makes me feel better, fer now, Amigo! Many Thanks fer bein there!

Mr. Bones Hey, you know the old saying - one grill lid closes, another one opens right? :-) I say pull the trigger on one of the grills you mentioned, or let your buddy custom build you one like he’s offered.
Life is short, none of us are getting any younger, and you don’t want to go to that gentle goodnight with any woulda coulda shoulda’s... especially where BBQ is concerned. :-)
