Well First and foremost it not really a grill targeted at us. However there are lots of folks that this has a place for. Huskee’s example for instance. City dwellers with limited space. It’s a long list. Besides there has never been anything like it that I can find. It’s a cool little run and gun Cooker. I’m happy to have the chance to check it out.

Steve B Canadian brand, Black Earth, does look interesting. I saw them at trade show a couple years ago. Doesn't appear Black Earth is getting much action in the pellet smoker market so far.

If you're backpacking, you're a) most likely not taking grillable food (but maybe catching fish,) and 2) not going to carry that thing that will take up the entire space in your backpack. If you DO decide to bring a steak or some hot dogs for your first night's camp meal, a small grill grate placed over a campfire does the job. I don't know any self-respecting backpacker who would carry that and the charcoal to fire it on a backpacking trip. I don't see a practical use for it, honestly, and at $150 seems to be far overpriced.
On their website, it said "perfect for the urban dweller who doesn't have patio or balcony space to store a grill" ... considering it's illegal to grill on a patio or balcony of a multi-family dwelling in most cities... (unless they have fire suppression sprinklers built in and installed on said patio/balcony.)
I see this as one of those infomercial products: Looks pretty neat at first but after thinking about it for a minute, it seems to be a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. The only exception being as Huskee mentioned - for canoe/boat trips where space and weight isn't at a terrible premium but is still a concern.... but you still have to haul fuel for it. If you're just going to burn wood, might as well just prop a grill grate up over your campfire. For car camping and tailgating, I'll stick with my Char Broil tabletop at 20% the price.
Now if you just want to buy a unique piece of equipment... go for it! I'll never try to talk you out of that. That's an endeavor that's worthy of pursuit on its own merits.Last edited by Buck Flicks; November 17, 2017, 03:01 PM.

Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.

I’ll post the link when it’s up.
Buck is right it’s not a backpackers grill. They go for the Jet Boil, wisperlite itybity stuff not 9lbs of unitasking fabric.
So far this gets lots of attention. End if the day it’s a unique brazer grill for sure.

Looking forward to hearin' yer input on this unique piece of gear, Jon.
Not a cooker fer me, but I'm curious how it performs, in yer capable hands, an' competent, thorough assessment.
If they had one with a proprtionate lil' offset lookin' firebox, why, it'd attract more redneck interest, imo.
Let's see what th' lil rascal is about, an' what it can do!
