    First smoked turkey ever and on PBC

    So I picked up a 19.5 lb turkey. Butterballed it with half butter and half corn oil per meatheads instruction. I also followed the rest of the recipe per meatheads ultimate turkey recipe. I used simon and garfunkel rub under the skin mixed with corn oil and the same on the outside.

    Took 2hr 58min to get up to 160 in the breast meat with a average temp of 330-335. Was awesome. Poor deep fryer may never see another turkey.

          That is one cook I have yet to do on the PBC. But I use S&G for every bird I do. I did a whole bunch of wings this weekend using S&G. Only I used Avocado Oil with the S&G to make a paste. They were a huge hit at the party. I cant imagine how they would be on a whole turkey. I have never tried corn oil/butter deal that you referred too. I would bet that would be great for the crispy skin.

                      Boy I don't know if it was the fact that I butterballed the breast meat or what. But it was crazy juicy and tender. There were parts of it that looked like they might fall apart from how juicy and tender they were.
