Finally placed the order for a PBC & Tel Tru thermometer

Im pretty excited to make some of the longer cooks easier and faster. I had to do the tel tru glow in the dark thermometer to keep my self from opening that lid to take a peak and spike the temps. That thing is gonna keep my sanity intact since I don't have someone there 24/7 to slap my hand every time I reach for the handle to check it!

As good as the tel tru thermometers are as MH has said you NEED a good digital like the maverick 732 or 733.

Hope that thermometer reads true throughout the temps at which you cook, jbeck1986 . Meathead and Max Good are skeptical of bi-metal thermometers. I have found that a bi-metal thermometer like the Tel-True in my WSCGC is accurate for a certain range of temps, but not at all the temps at which my cooker likes to roam.

Let us know how accurate it turns out to be in your PBC.

Steve B I have a IGrill 2 and I intend on picking up one of the nicer Thermoworks Dual probe kits. Plus my handy Mk4 thermapen.

I am just general idea of what temps are while I'm cooking. When I need to I will set up the probes. I'm just doing everything I can to keep my self from getting anxious and peaking

I'm curious to see how you like it! I love my WSM, awesome smoker. It seems that most PBC guys love their PBC to the same level. :-)

I put a tel-tru on the lid of my PBC. It reads accurately and I like the way it looks. You'll probably want to order the installation hardware kit if you haven't yet. I use a maverick probe thermometer as well and they're usually within 5 degrees of one another. Sometimes the probe reads a bit cooler as it is surrounded by cooler meat (at least that's my theory).

Congratulations on the PBC! Post some photos of your cooks so we can drool.

You'd think drool would be in short place around here given all the, well, drooling we do.
