      Bomb-diggity, man! Nice work!

FB is a crapshoot, honestly... I've been blanked and ghosted by so many people on there... I've been searching for a decent used car for my niece for nearly a year now. Since we don't have much to spend on it, we're pretty limited, but my GOD, it amazes me the people who post something up and then don't seem to want to sell it! Like, don't want to answer basic questions, who don't speak any Engrish at all, or can't seem to be bothered to meet up to show a vehicle. It's just staggering, really.

But once in a while, you get a gem. Sounds like you really made out great! Enjoy the new cooker! I'm already looking at another, probably a drum will be next, for me, it'll probably be a Super 55.

Thanks! I just sold several things that we don’t need in our new house on FB and I got ghosted so many times by buyers that I just about gave up.

The couple of times I tried to BUY something on FB, no one every responded to me. The couple of times I sold something on FB, I cannot tell you how many crazy responses I got from folks wanting me to take something other than cash as payment - weird apps and such that I had never heard of. My rule now is that even if I am talking to multiple folks, the first person to commit to showing up with cash in hand to haul off the goods is who gets it. Not someone who can't come for 3 days...

Congrats on your find and on your wife's support to purchase it. It's going to be the start of a fun diversion for you, and the family will reap the rewards of your expertise.

Enjoy cooking on it, and let us know how you like it as you make your way up the Bronco's learning curve. You've got a lot of great help available here on The Pit if you have any questions about it.

Question that I am having a hard time getting an answer to: the PBC advertises the ability to do multiple briskets at a time. Have any of y’all done multiple on the OBJ? If so, how many at once?

Technically, you could do 3, as you have three hangers that can go in the Bronco. They would have to be a little on the smaller side, as it would be very crowded in there with 3 big ones. You’ll need to make sure they don’t hang on the deflector plate if you’re using it. Personally, I wouldn’t be comfortable hanging more than 2. You’d want to hang ‘em by the point end, and the point is usually pretty big and fat, making it kind of crowded at the top. I’ve never done more than 1 myself.

Thanks! In that case if I needed to do 3, I may go with 2 in the Bronco and one in the Kettle.

Just finished my first cook on the Bronco! Best chicken I have EVER made! I always struggled with getting it right on the kettle when doing a whole chicken spatchcocked, but it came out perfect on the OJB. I used Meathead’s Sweet Georgia Brown chicken recipe that used Memphis Dust on it. So good! Topped it all off with Chocolate Pie Mud Birthday ‘cake’ for my wife! Recipe from Pioneer Woman. Best meal I’ve had in a long time.

Chicken looks great. I glad you are pleased with your first cook on the Bronco. I still use my Kettle. I prefer Tri Tip and chicken pieces on the Kettle and ribs and whole chickens on the Bronco. For me, the 2 cookers complement each other and I'm glad I have both. I remember mud cakes and pies with gummy worms! Enjoy those family times.

Purc that makes sense. I’ll definitely be using the kettle for certain things. I’m glad to have a second choice now.

Thank you! Yes, I made it. Baking is my other major hobby.

Nice job! That chicken and the cake look great.

Isn't it amazing how juicy a smoked chicken can be, especially the breast meat? My family and friends are still amazed at the juiciness whenever I serve them PBC chicken.

Great find! Enjoy that new cooker. I'm a PBC owner but I'm considering the Bronco when my PBC rusts out. I have one of the original powder coated, welded PBC's and it's holding up great. Might just have to buy that Bronco anyway......

                    Score!

I never find deals like that… It’s either some craptastic raggedy@$$ piece of junk that even the recycler passed on or it’s $3 less than a new one. :-/

Look here, young man, you don't need to apologize to these geezers on here cause you bought the superior tool! Other than fzxdoc, who cares what these pbc folks think. Me and Uncle Bob and Panhead John got your back.

Wait, I have a WSM to go along with my Bronco though, and everytime i go near an Ace hardware store I hear the pbc whispering "you know you want me, kevin". Dangit...

It'll get you one day, Kevin, when you least expect it. And now there's the Badger Barrel.

fzxdoc I am talking junk, but I am almost sure there is a pbc in my future. Even with the Bronco...

Same for me, Kevin, only in reverse. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Bronco knocking at my door some day.
