I have had MCS for up to a year now, as I have only had a Weber Kettle with an SNS for smoking. This has been great, but not enough capacity to cook for more than a small party.

I have looked at many grills and has finally settled on either the PBC or WSM Panhead John changed my mind by posting a throw down where y’all showed that the OJB looks superior to both!

My wife and I had agreed that I would slowly raise money for this as we are not swimming in cash. I figured I needed to raise around $470 to get one new. I came across a post by realdocBBQ about how he had found a killer deal on a kettle on FB Marketplace. I took a random look and found a brand new OJB in the box for $270! I told my wife figuring that this gave me hope that once I saved the money, I would find a good used one. Instead she told me to get it!

So it is now sitting in my back yard 80% assembled waiting for some storms to pass. I am excited to cook on this. Sounds like a chicken is a good first cook, so I may do a burn in today then cook a chicken tomorrow. I’ll put pictures up once it is completed and cooking!

xrodbob, no the OP said they were a mistake. John never said it. Yes, he's a OKJ fan and rightly so. Like I said we bust each other's chops. It's all in fun. The OP apologized which I accept as I know he didn't intentionally say it in a derogatory way. I felt that I had to mention it as it was something we do not do.

Congratulations on getting the Bronco, I think you’re really gonna like it! While the Bronco has more features and cooking flexibility vs the standard PBC or WSM, those are excellent cookers as well!

😂😂……that’s not back pedaling, it’s the truth. I’ve owned a WSM and we’ve all seen PBC owners rave about their cookers too. But……I’d buy the Bronco over the other 2 again.

Panhead John, my point exactly. If I choose cooker X and you Y, that doesn't mean your Y or my X is a mistake. It's a personal preference. Yea, we do have "fun" bustin' each other. But saying if I own a Z don't tell me I made a mistake.

You couldn’t go wrong with any of those 3 cookers! Not everyone needs certain features cooker A might offer over cooker B. The Bronco can grill as well as smoke, but I never use it for grilling. My SNS kettle is easier and better suited for grilling IMO. Also THE SNS KETTLE is vastly superior to any cooker on the planet and you’re a moron if you buy anything else!…..😂😂😂

I'm a dedicated PBC user (mine is 10 years old), but if I were ever to look at a replacement, I'd consider the Bronco as well. You made a good choice, jumping at that opportunity like you did. Enjoy.

LOL I didn’t think my beloved WSM was under fire as I was reading your original post. Instead, I heard you saying that your time in the Pit showed you that there were even more choices than you thought and even more ways to buy than you thought. Which led to you getting a great cooker for a screaming deal. That’s awesome!

It is currently finishing the last of its burn through. Here it is in pieces and with my oldest who did a lot of screwing in the screws! I forgot we have a party at church tomorrow, so a birthday chicken for my wife shall be it’s first go at cooking.

You will love the Bronco. We do need pics of your cooks. I was in the same boat as you were and I also looked at both the PBC and WSM to go with my Kettle and SnS.I really don't think you could go wrong with any of the 3 choices. Remember what Harry Soo says, "...It is the Pitmaster not the Pit." However, we all like new toys to play with and MCS is always a challenge.
