I've never been there, but my dad and stepmom make a road trip of Bern's once a year. They have had the same waiter for decades. It has always been a good experience for them.
I'll have to let them know it's closed right now. Thanks for the tip acorgihouse .
it's been reopened for a few weeks. No jacket required whatsoever.

I’ve been to Bern’s twice. It’s fantastic. Steaks are on par with places like The Met in Seattle or Ringside in Portland. What sets them apart is their wine cellar and their kitchen/cellar tours. Tremendous experience.
I have been to Bern’s many times for recruiting and family celebrations (we take the entire family on our anniversary). Food is outstanding and moderately priced, in that soup, salad, and veggies are included. Wine list at is amazing and dessert room is worth the trip by itself.
Note: I travel a lot for work and have eaten at many steakhouses. Bern’s remains my favorite - excellent food and value and always exceptional service!
