Every now and then my MCS gets stirred toward a rotisserie, but I wonder if would really use it. I am betting my MCS is driven by wanting to experience rotisserie cooking first hand. When I think rotisserie, I think whole chicken which we seldom cook. So, what other things do the rotisserie faithful rotisserie cook? I would appreciate your responses.

Within the past week or so, Meathead posted a video on YouTube of making porchetta on a rotisserie over a grill. Total food porn, I have watched it several times already!. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2n15YMWJTk

SNS
Pizza insert
Rotisserie
Cookshack Smokette Elite
2 Thermapens
Chefalarm

lots of probes.

A boneless butt would would be great. Prime rib also comes to mind. Pineapple for dessert or an appetizer is another choice.
I recently mentioned in another post that I like to use the two charcoal baskets that come with a Weber so that I can adjust their positions to help control browning.

On the mechanical side, my large BGE is basically a dedicated rotisserie. Joetisserie attachment. Added a charcoal basket from Ceramic Grill store. Modified it a bit to fit kick ash charcoal basket.. Cut a grill grate to fit across middle of egg, to hold a drip pan.
Last time got things too hot. Used a weber charcoal basket on front side, CGS basket on back side. Chicken was fine, but aluminum grill grate melted some. Aluminum melts at what, 1200 F?
Also have a bigger roti for use over fire pit or open fire. Ash & Ember aka Talon?. 34 pound suckling pig mighty fine.
A Combustion Inc wireless temp probe works great.

Weber MT Kettle, SnS, DnG, Easy Spin Stainless Steel Grate, Elevated SnS SS Cooking Grate, Vortex, Cajun Bandit Rotisserie, Oklahoma Joe Bronco, OKJ Bronco Triple Grate, Mini Weber Kettle ashtray Maverick XR-50, TimeStick Trio
Pork Butt, Whole Chickens, Ducks, Quail, Small Turkey, Rack of Lamb or Pork, Tri Tip, Boneless Leg of Lamb, Beef Prime Rib Roast, Picanha etc. Veggies, cut up potatoes, chicken wings, etc that you put into a rotisserie basket to name a few. It's fun and different way to cook some of the same stuff you cook now but with a different twist of flavor. I love mine.Last edited by Purc; May 22, 2024, 06:33 AM.
