Still waiting to hear back from Weber. I have sent them a video of the wobbly cheap stand. If you are considering the Kamado, it is not just $500 cheaper for the removal of the propane ignition. Look at the legs, wheels and triangle shelf. No support brackets. This thing weighs too much imo to be sitting on wobbly legs.
I am interested in keeping it, but if they will not fix the wobbly legs I either send it back or make a table. I do not need extra shelf space, I am really just looking for a solid stand to hold the thing.
That's rotten news that it's not stable. I search all over for ideas on a table, but I think anyone that really wants a table just buys the cart model. I saw one person on a Facebook group build one into an outdoor kitchen quite a while back and that's about all I've seen.
That's a consistent issue with Weber. The tripod design sucks. All their grills save for perhaps the Jumbo Joe and 14" should have legs more like the Ranch or a setup like the Performers.
That is very disappointing, But, I would plan on having a custom table made. Like earlier said, their tables really lack sturdiness, and longevity I am hoping to get my hand on someday the actual summit with table. That is my obsessive purchase.
Hey don't you guys be hating on me. I got feeling too you know? First you disrespect my new pellet grill, now you complain about the kamado. Didn't you ever hear the joke about the 3 legged midget?

Of course it's way more expensive, but the Weber Summit Charcoal Grilling Center is super solid.
Too bad that, in endeavoring to reach a better price point, Weber cut corners in that solid feel that made me content with my choice of the WSCGC back when it first came out.

I bought a Primo XL and the deal did not include a stand so I made my own. I got plans from a Primo web site the hardest part was installing the Primo in the stand. I made this out of cedar and I used spar varnish for a finish.
That's a bummer to hear. My Grilling Center has four legs and is pretty solid if you are going to build a table you might consider trading the Kamado for the full grilling center.
Surly Viking In regards to Old Glory said above, the time, energy and money to build a table could add up pretty quickly. On Marketplace, there's a Grilling Center in Omaha for $1500 that looks barely used and has been for sale for a while so they might negotiate some. So far, I've been able to convince myself that I really don't need the upgrade, but I've looked at it repeatedly. I don't know where in MN you are to know how far it might be for you.
Has Weber offered anything back yet for feedback? I don't have any complaints about the 1st get feeling unstable at all and you really wouldn't think that thin metal would do that much around the frame, but I suppose it is rigid support.
Surly Viking, thanks for updating this Forum regarding the unstable Cart. I am very disappointed as I was considering purchasing this Cooker, but not sure now. I had no problem with the removal of the propane Lighter, but I do not want a Cooker that wobbles when I lift the Lid or move it on the Patio. I sure hope to see some youtube reviews on this Cooker soon.

I am not able to post videos here of the wobble. but there are plenty on the facebook page. Someone posted a video in an Ace hardware store. That one wobbles worse than mine. It is not terrible, but it is very annoying
For 1K, make a better stand. maybe 4 legs like most companies? It just feels as cheap as a standard kettle.
I've been following this topic with interest because my Summit Kamado is still in transit. I just checked Weber's website and I noticed that the new Kamado & the Kamado Center appear to have been replaced again by the original models which is giving me even more concern about my decision to go with the $999 Kamado version. I wonder what's going on....
Just looking at the two there is a difference in how they made the legs. There is no way that the wire basket on the Kamando can support those legs like the frame on the WSCG does.
That is my dilemma. I am happy with the cooker, but not the unstable legs. Still waiting to hear if Weber will attempt to fix this or if they tell me it is normal behavior.
