I'll also chime in for the WSGC - I've had mine for at least 3 years, I don't remember exactly when I got it. It is by far the most versatile grill I've ever owned. Like many others have said, if you ask me to pick one grill to rule them all, this is it. I absolutely love it. I've had instances where it's held temperature for 20+ hours with a single load of charcoal. The flexibility of being able to cool it off quickly if you overshoot temperatures, is more helpful than you would realize at first and is one area where I think it has a significant advantage over a traditional Kamado. I'll also Andrrr's comment that since it comes with the diffuser, you don't really need anything else to be able to do consistent low temp cooks that would otherwise require something like the slow-n-sear. You can really do anything with this grill, it is the ultimate swiss army knife of a cooker.

I've also had some experience with Weber's customer service related to this unit that I want to mention. First, I will disclose that I have not had the "leaky gasket" problem that BabyBackManiac had. I do occasionally see some gasket leak if I have the wires of my thermometer running under the gasket, but that's not really the same thing. That said, I have had two problems with the grill, and I could not have been happier with Weber's warranty response.

The first problem was that the gas igniter never really worked right. It would take two to three attempts to get it started, then would often blow itself out. I rarely used it, so it wasn't a big deal, but eventually, I contacted Weber customer support. They responded in less than 24 hours, and immediately sent a brand new gas ignition system. It took me 15 minutes to install it and it has worked perfectly ever since.

The second time I contacted customer service was this year. About a month ago, I got frustrated that the interior mid-level ring was rusting more than I thought it should have. Every month, it would flake off more and more rust. I just wanted to buy another one to replace it, since I live in a humid climate and rust is to be expected. Since this is not a part that Weber sells on its web store, I contacted customer service. I also mentioned in an off hand manner, that there appeared to be a rust spot on the bottom tray (where the charcoal basket sits) and some premature rust on the edges of the heavy duty caster wheels. Once again, I got a response within less than 24 hours. Weber not only replaced the interior mid level ring free of charge, they also shipped me an entirely new bottom tray, and two brand new caster wheels. All of it was shipped on an expedited basis and arrived at my home less than 4 days after I originally contacted customer service. The customer service representative let me know that if I needed other replacement parts in the future that are not listed on their website (such as a replacement diffuser), I can always contact them and they will sell me whatever part I need, even if it is not covered by the warranty.

The end result is that my 3+ year old WSGC is now as good as new, ready to cook many many more turkeys, chickens, briskets, ribs and any other random thing I can think to cook on it. When they say the WSGC is built for life, they mean it. I cannot overstate how pleased I am both with the grill and Weber's customer service.

Yeah, it was very easy. I was able to disassemble just the igniter system and replace it without taking much else apart. The whole process was quick and easy. I thought it might be hard based on the directions, but it was easy in reality.

Ok, all. I am leaning heavily toward a Summit Kamado under my tree! Let's move to accessories available for it. It seems it does not need many as it comes with the ability to cook three different ways right out of the box.

With that said...............Is there a rotisserie out there that would fit it? Who has one and how does it work for you? Would I find this useful on a Kamado?

Betting I cannot install a pizza oven if for no other reason than the lid is attached. But I found a pizza oven accessory for the kettles that is adjustable for either the 18" JJ or the 22" kettle. Since my pizzas are normally 14" in diameter I assume my JJ could fill that bill. Comments??

What other accessories do you have and find useful with this cooker?

Thanks to all who are assisting me with this! I really appreciate it.

Red Man I read with interest your comments as to installing a heat deflector in your PBC. What type drip pan did you install? Round foil pan? Sq. or Rectangular? I assume the largest that would fit into the 18" drum more or less? I have seen rather large stainless steel dog bowls that might work.........comments Please!

Red Man, interesting pan and covers the coal basket...Good price too. Do you add water or sand to the pan when using as a deflector or just use it dry and of course with alum. Foil cover?

I don’t typically add water. I tried water once, the temps ran 200-225.

      Rotisserie:
I was just starting to play around with a rotisserie on my Performer right before I got the WSCG. However, I wasn't going to keep the Performer around just for a rotisserie. So, I've been waiting for a good rotisserie option for a year now. Right now, it looks like there are two options either a Spit On Fire for around $350

Drip pan I use for WSCG (Large - 14”):
New Stainless Steel Drip Pan.  Heavy duty and reusable!  Never buy another disposable drip pan again.  Fits perfectly on your plate setter for indirect cooking.  The drip pan will help create moisture and add flavor for low and slow cooks! Benefits & Advantages: Heavy Duty Won't break or rust 304 Grade Stainless St

      Medium Vortex for chicken parts.

Spit on Fire offers the rotisserie option for the WSCGC for a pretty pricey $385 ( including shipping) from the Netherlands. Shipping to the US is not specifically listed, but implied in their "Rest of the World" shipping price of 60 euros.

Update: With the stability problems of the tripod legs on the Weber Kamado I decided to sit on the sidelines for awhile and purchased a 2 year old Performer for less than half price in excellent condition. I am very happy with it and purchased the SnS Deluxe Premium Platinum package to go along with it as a Christmas present to me. The result seems to be an excellent smoker/grill to add to the family.

Once Weber gets its problems corrected with the stability issue (I read that they are actually addressing that issue), I might get the Kamado. If I decide the Performer is no longer needed, I expect I can sell it easily for what I paid for it. The SnS accessories would also be easy to sell if I decided to. Thanks to everyone who commented. I appreciate all of your comments and recommendations!
