    Wholy wscgc batman!

So I went out back a bit ago to clean out my WSCGC for tonight's cook of some chickies, and it was sitting at 250 degrees! You can't make this stuff up! The last time I fired it up was at 9:30 AM yesterday morning and cooked my beef ribs for about 7 hours. Turned off my Fireboard, went inside and ate well. The dang dang thing has been running this way for 30 hours straight. I am flabbergasted!

So I took out my diverter plate and this is what I have left over! Good news is I don't have to light some coals tonight for my chicken fajitas!

That's totally crazy Lonnie. Impressive but crazy.
Just curious how remotely accurate is that thermometer? I'm thinking you've already checked it against your digital. But none the less for that baby to still be going. Dang.

Funny, using the FireBoard all the time, I find it amazing how accurate this little thermo is in the smoke setting. On some higher cooks it may get a little erratic, but I have been impressed on the low and slow. My FireBoard left off last night at this same exact setting. I just had no idea it would be sitting there at 250 degrees 30 hours later!!

All I did was add a half can of some B$B lump and then supper!

The WSCGC was on my MCS list, but it just moved to the top!

So I've had about 6 cooks on my new WSCGC and can attest to just how amazing it holds temp...But this is still ridiculous lol!

Kamados are amazing. I did the same thing with my Broil King Keg this weekend, up north. I smoked a few butts, lit the fire at about 9 am cooked all day and took them off at about 8PM. Then I bumped the temp up to 500 F and did some cast iron seasoning. I came out in the morning at about 10 am and it was still at 500 F ! I bet it could have burned like that for another two hours at that temp. I choked off the fire and let it die, I finally took the cast iron out at 10 PM and it was still at about 200 F. Now that is some bad a$$ seasoning. I just love my Kamados.

On Youtube a while back a guy who calls himself "Baby Back Maniac" ran an experiment to see how long of a burn he could get out of his WSCG. If memory serves he got 56 hours out of it which is absolutely insane.

Or Jason as he is sometimes called. LOL. Yea, if anyone has pioneered using WSCGC to date, he has probably done a lot with it.

That's pretty amazing, lonnie mac . Those WSCGCs are pretty doggone efficient, and you just proved it. I'm firing up mine this weekend. Can't wait.

What kind of charcoal did you use for that unexpectedly long "cook" ?
