My original WSGC (not the new E6) is getting a little long in the tooth but is still by far my favorite cooker (I try not to let the others see that). I want to replace some parts like the diffuser (broken), gasket, etc. But I am having a hard time verifying if the replacement parts available for the newer E6 work with it or not. Weber's site hasn't been much help and my other searches have been pretty fruitless in getting confirmation. I suppose I could call Weber direct but wanted to check here first to see what experiences people have had refreshing/reburshing a first generation WSGC. Thanks!

I do not own a WSGC, but for anything Weber replated go to the Virtual Weber Bullet website. Since they talk nothing but Webers, maybe they can assist.

From what I understand the gasket should be the same.
The old diffuser was hinged while the new one is not, but they should be the same size. I would have no problem replacing the hinged version with the solid one if mine ever failed as I've never used the hinged flap to refill and quite frankly I think they're too small to do it effectively. I've really contemplated just finding a cheap pizza pan of the same size online and using that.

I own the WSCG and have never used my diffuser but instead have used the Slow-N-Sear Low Profile. Food for thought. Have fun!

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
How old is your Summit? Many of the Weber grills have 10 year or longer warranties, so parts might be free if you contact Weber. I got about $150 in free replacement parts for a 6 year old Genesis earlier this year, with just an email to their customer service asking if the parts were under warranty. All they wanted was confirmation of my serial #.

I would like to find some replacement casters for my E6. Of all the things to crap out on, Weber chose the wheels. The inserts are garbage, wheels collapsed. Got no help from Weber. Can’t even find replacement parts. Anyone want a Summit E6 cheap? I never use it because of the wheels.
