Hi loving my new Used S-6. It running hot and some smoke leaking from lid in a few places. Also when i shut it down stays hot longer that i would think it should. Ambers in the morning from night before and most coal gone from a 300* smoke using Kingsford original for 3hrs then shut down . It's a Gen 1 WSCG was thinking it might need a new gasket? The back by the hinge where it splices together there is a sizable gap.was looking for info on how to change weber summit kamado grill Braided Stainless gasket and all i see is Kamado Joe gasket chance but that is ceramic not steel.

Braided Stainless gasket?

That stainless mesh gasket crease is on all of these S6 WSCG and i can see the smoke residue on the back side of the gasket like shown in your photo. For me, my stainless steel one touch cleaning damper blades were not sealing flush as they should, so when trying to smother out the fire it ran over night. Once i replaced the stainless steel blades, problem solved. One other spot to check for air leakage is the tube for the propane ignition system, you might want to try to wrap foil around the gas tube where it comes into the bowl (just for testing when trying to smother out your charcoal)

Thank You fluffing helped tremendously! If it continues to flatten will then change gasket!!Originally posted by IFindZeroBadCooks View PostHave you tried pinching it to fluff it up and fill the gaps? Works surprisingly well.
