    1st annual Taco party

So we asked my mother in law a few months ago, if she would like us to host the annual pizza party early summer or fall again she said, can we do both? The answer was absolutely we can host 2, but to switch up the pizza as we also do pizzas at our holiday gathering, we decided to go with a Taco Party and with 2 great grand daughters now we thought adding an ice cream bar could be a special way to celebrate and hopefully build great memories for everyone, so i have made 2 quarts of vanilla and 2 of chocolate for an ice cream bar dessert.

It will be a bit more exciting this gathering as a niece is now engaged, and a 3rd baby has been announced so we will get to toast and celebrate to growth in family, So i need to work on a toast.

I thought about going all out and trying to level up everything but i have decided to pass on that idea keep it simple, keep it about family, This will be the first time any of them have had my Chrzaco’s though, we are going to offer up masa, and flour tortillas both. Next year i hope to be more ready and expand to barelfly ’s Carne Adovada, beef cheek birria

Fillings are going to be seasoned ground beef with my chipotle blend, smoked SV’d pulled pork and Smoked Svd pulled chicken breast. Pico, homemade guac, cilantro lime crema etc….

Im hoping for some feedback on any slaws or other that would serve well with the pulled pork and chicken, i need to get something acidic to lighten those up a bit. What are your must have toppings?

photos of the Chrzacos for reference those are pizza doughs folded over loaded with cheese, baked in my gozney then opened and filled

Those look outstanding, Richard! And carne adovada loaded up into those, oh man! What a treat!

hope everyone enjoy’s those tacos this year!

as for toppings - i think you have all that is needed. Let the meat be the star of the show. But, you could make a salsa or two along with some pickled onions, or escabeche of some sort. I think that would be a great addition to your plan.

can’t wait to see the photos of the party!

I hope my wife gets a lot of photos, most of the gatherings I get to jump into cooking mode, trying to keep a flow going of food, which i enjoy, I just like to hear all the chatter and laughter. But never seem to have my tablet in hand to get a photo.

My mother in law and I get along pretty great, and she spoils me, my wife is a bit jealous even lol.

We’re fortunate to have been able to build a spot that brings family together, from the first gathering we could tell everyone enjoyed their day under a gazebo, etc… expanding them with kids and marriage's is so much fun, and I know it means a lot to great grandma to have this time, and I know my wife love’s this time as well.

Wow, just wow. Now that I know what I’m cooking soon, I’m very interested in what toppings people will suggest too.

Everyone who has had one, has fallen in love! We also stuff them with mortadella and burrata, or flank steak and shrimp with chimi, etc…
