Sooo... What do you do with the water bath after a SV cook?
I don't do it often enough to keep it on the counter for next time, though I wonder what would be growing in there next time if I did. I don't have enough indoor plants to water, outdoor plants and grass have a sprinkler.
Don't have an aquarium (poor fish if somebody tried that one), drinking it cold doesn't seem wise. SV Coffee doesn't sound great either - though I've heard stranger.
When cool: Add to the dogs' water bowl. Water plants both indoors and out. Flush the loo.
While still warm: Wash dishes. Add to washing machine along with a load of clothes. Wash the car or motorcycle. Wash and rinse the deck or grill after a cook.
These are all great ideas, assuming I am not clumsy enough to leave something on the lip or outside of the bag (which happens often enough to be trouble). Or hey, does that get pasteurized with everything else?

Since we have hard water, I add distilled white vinegar to it so that there is no buildup on the heating elements. So I end up dumping it down the drain since it will also help to clean the drain at least a little bit.

When I was using the torch for searing on the searing grate/pan kit, I would add some dish soap to the pan and use the hot water to soak the pan and grate. Now I'm using the sear station on my Napoleon so it generally gets dumped unless there's something else to soak.
Down the drain for me. I wouldn't want to use it in anything edible, because it's not like the exteriors of the vac-seal bags that go in there are pristine... especially when I'm reheating vac-sealed leftovers that have been in the freezer with everything else for however long. Aside from the mild drought conditions we're experiencing at the moment in this extremely hot summer, we don't typically have any kind of water problems here in NoVA. If I still lived in Albuquerque, you bet I'd repurpose it for something, watering patio or houseplants probably.

I think I've SV'd 2-3 times but it's always gone down the drain. In general I try my best not to make things single-use, but water isn't one of them. It will get filtered and re-used eventually one way or another.
I'll add some dish soap and run the circulator. Cleans both. Just needs a rinse after a few minutes. Sometimes I'll add vinegar as was said above and run for 20-30 minutes to descale the coils in the circulator. Down the drain in all cases. We're in a rural area with septic and well. What comes from the ground returns to the ground for us. Inevitably us too!
