Meh. I had enough boiled/steamed hot dogs as a kid to last me a lifetime. I've got a sous vide, but using it for hot dogs doesn't sound good. If I want to cook them inside, my preference would be a skillet or grill pan.

Throw em in a pot, don’t waste the baggie, it’s fer the environment ya know. Probably ruin em faster.
After further thought, I’d just nuke the dog, eat it while a person is still messin with all that crap to come up with some kinda fancy soundin meal. It is a Hot Dog, not a filet Mignon.

My kids don’t mind a boiled/microwaved/no-char dog, but I’ve got to be starving with no other options to go for one myself.
Grill is ideal, but I’ll never start a load of charcoal only for dogs, so the Blackstone gets most dog action if I’m making a full pack and skillet if I’m just doing a couple. Dogs heat up pretty quick, so by the time it has the right color the center is certainly warm.
My favorite dog hack is cook a slice or two or ten of bacon and then drop the dogs on. Adds a killer flavor…and you have bacon to add as a condiment!
When I WILL use sous vide for hotdogs is if they were already grilled and went back in the fridge as leftovers. Then tossing it in warm water and grabbing one whenever you’re ready makes total sense!
