I was about 30 minutes into sous vide of two large London broils for a dinner party. My Joule tripped the GFI! I tried another circuit with the same results. Instantaneous tripping GFI. I was now in panic mode with a lot of heated meat and several hours away from dinner. I quickly got them in the oven to braise in tomatoes. I never long cooked this cut, but in this instance I had no choice. My instincts were correct, they were dry and tough. I sliced them, put them back in the pan, added beef broth and butter and simmered on the cooktop for about 30 minutes. It came out pretty good. I was amazed I was able to rescue that beef.
Breville was responsive and is replacing the Joule.
Nice recovery after some drama. Glad to hear you got a good customer service response from Joule. I’ve got one also and hope to never experience a problem but if I do, I’ll expect the same level of service.
