At my elementary school back in the 70's they served Indiana chili with peanut butter sandwiches. I still eat peanut butter sandwiches with my chili...B

What…the…what?!? I’ve never heard of this, and now I don’t know if I’m intrigued or disturbed.

Guess there’s just one way to find out…

Santamarina the chili in Indiana is very tomato based. Tomato juice, whole tomatoes, and at least 0.001 milligrams of chile powder if you want to live on the cutting edge. :-) And it also has pasta of some sort along with what I hate most--beans. So the chili I make looks nothing like Indiana chili, but I still like dipping that peanut butter sandwich in there!

Chili goes with almost everything. But then, so do saltines. WIN/WIN if you ask me.

Takes me back to my childhood. Saltines were always in the house. Saltines with margarine was a common snack

Those work. But Tostitos are killer. You can either crush them into the bowl, or use them as a spoon.

I’m not a Tostitos guy, but tortilla chips are 100% fantastic with chili. The best spoon on earth!

Growing up in North Texas we ate chili with saltines crumbled over the top with cheese or we made Frito pies. I moved to SE Texas and they serve it over rice down here. Been here 25 years and still think its weird.

I guess its a Cajun influence, maybe a newer thing if you never saw it when you were growing up here. I've been to a couple of local chili cook-offs and they offer rice. My staff at work also serve over rice.
