    Best ham soup bone EVER.

From the in-laws. Sometimes the ham isn’t all that good; my nephew was in charge this year, and this ham kicks out all the jams. It is really moist and tender, and delightfully smoky. The glaze is brown sugar and honey, but I usually trim that off for soup.

    I’m pumped.

      It’s going to become a potato-bean-vegetable soup!

I'm getting a Honey Baked ham bone from my sister in-law. Not as tasty as yours, but gonna make some bean soup with it.

Mrs Mosca hates pea soup. I found that out after I brought home 2 lbs of dried split peas. Which doesn’t make sense; there isn’t much difference, philosophically, between split pea soup and bean soup, which she loves. At least I bought the cheap ones.

I've been known to make ham, just to get the ham bone

I love that soup, but it’s just a place to start.

And, it’s been all used up. “Stone soup”, “kitchen sink soup”, call it whatever you want. It’s delicious!

Looks like you put a little of everything in your soup. I'd love to try it. Yum!

I start with a basic bean soup, then add things by ladling some out, adding, and sampling. Things like the carrots/onion/celery/garlic, and potatoes and mushrooms, are known to work. The corn, peas, and roasted red pepper were sampled in. I didn’t buzz it with the stick blender this time, I just scooped out a couple cups and buzzed those. And I didn’t add rice this time.
