Read this post title too quickly and thought for a sec that it said Oreo Cookie Salad. 'Lord help us', I thought.

On that note, does anyone remember dirt salad, or dirt cake it might've been called. It's a dessert I remember from childhood made with crushed Oreos, some whipped cream, and had gummy worms in it, mixed into a big bowl or a cake pan, topped with crushed Oreo wafers only to look black like dirt. As a kid it was my favorite thing at family reunions and other potluck things. 9 out of 10 dentists approve as it surely boosted their appointments for fillings.

Chocolate pie dirt cake was the birthday cake glue 3 of 4 in my family last year. My wife was quite pleased when I agreed to do it for her and my kids loved it so much they wanted it too.
