Strat50 Hey you should come down to the Eel Pout festival on Leech Lake, Minnesota. Its held ever year on the ice outside of Walker, Minnesota. It actually a blast. You'd love it. All the eel pout you can eat. (Again, I never saw anybody eat any of them.)

I'm originally from Minnesota, and have eaten lots of Eelpout there. Here, in Alaska, I fish for them whenever I can, as they eat real well. Any cod recipe will do..
When I was a boy, we would spend a couple weeks a year on Leech Lake. When I was 10 or 11, I got caught out on the lake in a thunderstorm. I was ferrying the boat from one campground to another. It got a bit rough, but I made it, only to find the emergency services people waiting for me at my destination. Good times...
