It’s become a family joke that I buy something for ME when my wife is away. Which, to be fair is quite often as she has a girls group that loves to travel together and she also has to visit her family in NL a couple times a year.
Once she was gone for 6 weeks and I bought a sauna!! 😂😂That’ll teach her!!
Well, you might (probably not) recall I was circling the Instant Pot. That fell away when I discovered “how much I needed a yakitori grill” 🙄. It is actually really cool and since I’m mostly “Cooking for Two” these days, it’ll allow me to bang out some indoor grilling so I don’t need to dig out my kamado and freeze my bums in the 14 degrees outside.
Yes, I’ve become soft. 🤷♂️
Anyway here’s the best way I know to cook octopus with some pics of my MCS purchase of the Yak Grill.

Here’s a 3 pound octopus. Removed beak, cut off the head and remove the eyes.

Put it in a pan w onion, bay leaves, garlic, pepper corns, and red wine vinegar. Cover tightly w aluminum foil and bake it at 500degrees for an hour.

It’s completely cooked but you need to let it cool - I put it in the fridge over night. You want it to firm up a bit for when you grill it.
Get ready for my new grill. First let’s light the charcoal without any starters. I did have to dig that chimney out of the snow.

Here’s my little beauty getting ready to grill. Speaking of getting ready - cut your legs (I chose 3 as I’m dining alone) 🎻 And marinate with the sauce of your choice. This is some Thai red curry paste and olive oil.

Now grill it!! It’s actually perfectly cooked so the only thing you are doing is charring it with the added marinade flavor.

And serve: today with a Thai red curry paste and coconut milk sauce, roast potatoes, and an arugula and beet salad.
