I do like catfish. Some of my best memories growing up are around that fish. Hmm.....catfish and cod are currently the two front runners.

Michael, I know you like to analyze to9 make the best decision possible, but I doubt whether any of the suggestions will steer you in the wrong direction. Think - it’s all good.

Walleye if you can get it. Otherwise tilapia or cod is a good way to go.

In no particular order…cod, halibut, swordfish, mahi-mahi. All of them make for great tacos.
Grilled, fried, or blackened (especially halibut & swordfish).

I usually go with grouper or snapper. Halibut is good too. And so you don't have to get too far out of your rut, know that a tuna taco ain't terrible.

Any of the fish you listed would be great. I tend to use red fish (red drum), which is easy to find in my area, and catfish.

Take your tacos to another level and use blackened fish. A good blackened seasoning such as Paul Prudhomme's should be available at most stores or make your own. The process does tend to smoke up the kitchen though so I'd advise using a skillet on your grill.

As tasty as cod is it can also stink up the house if cooked indoors. 🫢

No one mentioned grouper. Too expensive?

My apologies gents. My brain must have already decided not to see grouper. I went back and do remember reading your posts, but did not see the fish mentioned the first time. Selective perception.

I did not realize that Grouper was a regional fish. Thanks surfdog.
