Done Oysters Rockefeller a number of different ways and smoked those. But as far as the ones in the can, nope but it can't be that hard. Just roll some smoke on a bunch laid out and they should respond. Don't overdue it though or they will turn into hockey pucks
I have, tossed in a bit of olive oil. Layer them on a disposable cookie sheet that had some olive oil on the bottom. All you need is saltines, or maybe some hotsauce or horseraddish.
I had em in a can once & they were awful. But, what PNWsmoke displayed looks interesting. As far as cookin em, we’ll they don’t like ice to much & bein in the middle of the tundra, I think I would have to travel a ways to git em.
A benefit of my cook down in Louisiana last Friday (used 3 cookers!) was the availability of head-on shrimp and oysters in the shell. I cooked about 10 pounds of shrimp so I wasn't all that interested in more of those, but oysters, yessirree, I bought 2 sacks on my way out of town. That ended up being about 15 dozen. Opened and ate a dozen on Saturday, ate 6 more on Sunday and shucked a dozen into a jar to be a birthday present, sold 2 dozen. Last night was a fried oyster sandwich on sour dough bread. Today's a bit chilly, so I may make a batch of oyster stew. If my count is right I should have about 11 dozen left. Believe I will sort out the largest ones to smoke, use the OG and orange/oak pellets. I promise to take pix. Should have last night, these were perfect pan fried oysters!
I tried to smoke oysters at a party once. The plan was to put them on the heat, let them open naturally, spice and smoke. It doesn't work! As soon as they opened people just started eating them.
