So we traditionally eat fish every Friday in our house. Problem is, 3 of the kids don't like fish except nasty grocery store fishsticks. However they love most shellfish (don't like oysters or scallops). Shrimp, crab, lobster, clams, crawfish squid, you name it. Want a new shellfish dish. Current rotations are shrimp and grits, crab or shrimp Alfredo, fried shrimp, spanish style shrimp and rice, lobster rolls, boiled crawfish, low country boil, and crawfish monica. This Friday goi g do do a garlic shrimp casserole. Need some ideas that I can make in about 2 hours or less on a Friday night that 6 people, 4 of which are kids, 2 of which are fairly picky about seafood will eat, and get full on. Any ideas?

These Tacos Gobernador de Camarón are really easy and really good. Even with prep you're looking at maybe 45 minutes total. I usually leave out the tomatoes and roast the poblanos because roasted poblanos tase better and grocery store tomatoes are sad, sorry bags of mostly water.

Crispy Shrimp patties
Mix together Ground Shrimp, diced green onion, diced sweet red peppers, salt and pepper and a touch of flour.
Form into patties and refrigerate for a bit
Dredge in flour, dip in egg, and coat with panko.
Deep fry or air fry until done.
Eat like crab cakes or like a burger. We like burger style with lettuce, tomato, and mayo / ketchup / horseradish mix topping.

Not shellfish, but I'd bet you could substitute shellfish in.

This is not a casserole, but over pasta (spaghetti noodles). It is a shrimp scampi recipe from the Gilroy Garlic festival that I have made numerous times and is just plain delicious. You can make the butter sauce ahead of time (2-3 days before). The shrimp prep is about 1/2 hour and just takes just a few minutes to cook the shrimp and then pour in the butter sauce.
However, with kids I'm sure you are looking for something you can throw together, toss in the oven and then serve. This recipe will divert your attention from the kids. If you want the recipe, just send me a private message.

I'll take some shellfish, though - true shellfish, not bivalves or any of that mess. Just plain ol' shellfish, in many ways. My wife does a shrimp linguini alfredo, not bad, nice and garlicky, too.

You might try New Orleans BBQed shrimp. Also, you might try catfish covered with yellow mustard and then covered with Louisiana Fish Fry either fried or oven baked. If you oven bake spray some oil on the fish before baking.
Oh, Murdy just reminded me of shrimp and seafood gumbo and Shrimp Creole sometimes called Shrimp Stew.Last edited by LA Pork Butt; March 1, 2022, 11:13 AM.

We do a shrimp fettucine alfredo that everyone seems to love. Although more of an appetizer, just do bacon wrapped shrimp. They grill off fast, just precook the bacon some and add your favorite bbq sauce. Or do a simple CI pan adaptation to smoked shrimp. Or how about a jambalaya? Here's some exampIes I do all the time that get devoured in minutes.
