Wouldn’t you think this was salt?

The package is small. And the store wasn’t especially well lit.

In its favor, it’s decently hot. It has some kick. Pepperheads will say it’s good. But I don’t really have a use for habanero sugar. I don’t add sugar to stuff.

Use the flashlight on your phone. LOL I have the same problem in dimly lit places and never think of using the flashlight. I guess I am not young enough. Surely there is a sugar lover in the PIT that would take it off your hands.

Put that into your pork rib or butt rub!

Maybe one of these bread recipes that calls for some sugar, I can make habanero bread. Hehe.

Yeah that's a terrible label for a non-salt product of that company

Toss a pinch of chili powder into a small amount habanero sugar, blitz it in a spice or coffee grinder, then dust it over a few slices of hickory-smoked bacon for some candied bacon, always a great gift or special treat for someone.

That is a good idea. I can make that one happen.

Put a little in your coffee. That’ll really wake you up.

I’m going to try it in my evening rooibos tea. It does have some pop to it.

Showed the pic to my wife. She said put it in a chocolate dessert. I make a spicy chocolate ice cream that’s great, so this idea makes sense to me.

I put it in my rooibos, and offset the capsaicin with some cream. The initial hit of heat is really nice, but the burn in the back, at the top of the throat and outside of the taste buds, is harsh. It’s like having a scratchy throat.

Once was plenty. I wouldn’t do it again. I look forward to trying the habanero candied bacon, though. That should be interesting.
