Hey! So I am working this project for an event in November. I think I mentioned it in the past, a luncheon pulling from El Cocinero Español by Encarnación Pinedo.
backstory: the translators of the original book is the late founder of my culinary history group. This year is our 30th anniversary, so we are celebrating Dan Strehl.
one recipe that our president picked out is:
p. 185: pudin de senoritas (young ladies’ pudding) – ground almonds mixed with sugar and sprinkled with orange blossom water, mixed with eggs and baked. There is also a more conventional rice pudding flavored with lemon blossom water, something I wish it were possible to get.
SO…… I’m reaching out to the lucky dogs that can shop at HEB and humbly ask if y’all can look for me. I will be checking out my local Mexican and Spanish markets here.
