Great Rub with a terrible name!

My sister has subscribed me to a bi-monthly BBQ box and this showed up in the last one.

It’s actually incredible. Mustard, dill, a touch of garlic, a bit of spice. It’s really good on pork and chicken.

Now whoever came up with the name should never be allowed to name another product ever. I would have never looked at this on a shelf and said “Hey let’s buy some Musty Dust”

    😆

Most rubs have silly names. Your correct. Would not throw that in my grocery cart.

It has ground rice hulls in it. What does that do? 🤔

        At a guess it's an anti-caking agent.

We get a chuckle out of this sort of thing. Folks have a vision in their head that they understand in their own context and are so in love with it they don't think through the other permutations.

One of our favorites is when someone promoting their garage sale writes the info in magic marker on a six inch paper plate, takes it down the road and tacks it to a post. They don't think through how it looks to the average driver going by at whatever speed. We call it "looks good on the kitchen table" syndrome.

Betty White had such a bawdy sense of humor. Loved her.

The "Delicious Dish" was a great reoccurring bit!

I think a better name would be "Musty & Dusty".

Rice hulls are a more appetizing sounding anti-caking agent than say the more common ones, like silicon dioxide, calcium silicate, and magnesium stearate.
