    Here’s a way to save a bit

I know I gave away several bottles of Meat Church rubs not long ago. I just don’t use them. They do however have a seasoning I really like, it’s their Fajita seasoning. I was looking on line and almost everywhere it was in the $10.00 range but the shipping doubled the cost. I found out while looking on line that our local Ace Hardware said they carry the Meat Church rubs. When I went by to check they said they don’t keep them in stock but would be glad to order any I wanted and it would come in on their truck every Thursday. Guess what? They don’t charge shipping! I got it for the $10.00. The girl that placed the order ask how many bottles I wanted. She said they had 1000 bottles in the warehouse. Anyway if you want a Meat Church rub and don’t want to pay shipping check with your Ace.

Ace is good for rubs as you say. I also like the free delivery for over $50 of charcoal at store pricing. The app has coupons too so you can combine free assembly, free delivery, and a good coupon for a new smoker.

I was just looking at the Meat Church website. The shaker bottle of fajita seasoning is 14 oz at $9.95, and they have a 1 lb bag for $12.00, except the 1 lb bag is actually 14 oz, so it is $2.05 more for the resealable bag. Maybe they put the wrong label on the bag in the photo.

That’s a great tip! I have an Ace store one mile away.

They're 25 miles from me. Suckage. I actually made the drive the night before Thanksgiving, hoping to find their pecan or hickory rubs there - but they closed early that day. <sigh>

My local ACE is about 1/2 mile down the road and it's got a nice selection of rubs and sauces. I buy Meat Church and Blues Hog there. The free in store delivery is wonderful.

Meat Church has great rubs. The Fajita is the one rub of theirs that I just don't care for.
I tried it on a few different things, and they always were too salty for me.
I do try to support Ace whenever I can as they are all independently owned small businesses, and they are a good source for different rubs and sauces at fair prices.

I watched a video from Meat Church Matt said that the fajita was a seasoning not a rub. That’s the way I use it. It really works well for me just grilling beef or chicken.

Great place to find, hard to find CharLogs. I will look into the rubs. Thanks

              Ace is the place!

The one by the lake house has a nice selection of local BBQ sauces and rubs.

Good tip, I was unaware that ACE had rubs in stock. At our age we have to watch the salt intake. Being selective, if the first ingredient is salt in the rub, I'm going to pass from now on.

Eating too much salt in your diet can significantly increase your blood pressure, which in turn raises your risk of heart disease and stroke, making it one of the most concerning health risks associated with excessive sodium intake; most people consume more salt than recommended, often unknowingly through processed foods.

My local Ace has the Meat Church rubs in stock most of the time. They have a nice little selection of rubs and charcoal actually. They were out of a couple of the Meat Church ones I use when I was in there getting a bag of charcoal and some propane the day before Thanksgiving, but had spots for them on the shelf.

I went there he day before Thanksgiving around 11am to get the charcoal, and also to refill 3 of my 5 propane tanks (grills, fire pit, and beer brewing setup), and the guy outside had been standing there filling propane tanks since they opened at 7am, non-stop! He said it was worse than a few yeas ago when we had a power outage and it was 10 degrees and folks needed propane for heat. I guess a lot of folk were frying their turkeys in Huntsville this year! I didn't need it for Thanksgiving myself... and actually didn't need the extra charcoal, but felt reassured to have an extra bag "just in case".

Used to buy my B&B lump charcoal there but Walmart and Academy have the same thing much cheaper now.

Oak Smoke I also go to Academy 90% of the time for my charcoal, as it is $5 cheaper per bag than Ace. I tossed Ace a $5 token of goodwill on that purchase because its a small local franchise a 1/2 mile from the house.

Ace has a warehouse in the Yakima, WA area. Local store carries B&B lump. Several years ago I learned that BBQ'rs Delight made the B&B Competition Blend pellets, but local store did not have them. I had been getting CandySueQ's Delight pellets from a meat market about 80 miles away. Ordered in some B&B pellets. Slick.

When BBQ'rs Delight sold, I really stocked up, since did not know if that relationship would continue. And I still don't. But I have several hundred pounds to work thru before I need an answer. My wife has given up on parking her car in the garage.

yakima! Thanks for your support! I showed your comment to the boss yesterday. His comment was I should post a pic of the 4 pallets of pellets in my workshop! Here lately I've been mostly cooking on B&B charcoal on Weber kettles.

CandySueQ. So it seems that Yoder is continuing your brand, operating your former plant, and that you are working some for them. Any comment re pellets for B&B?

                  #13
yakima, I have been out of business since 4th quarter 2023! Our factory sold to an exporter, so all former production is gone from our plant. B&B pellets went elsewhere around beginning of 2023. Yoder purchased BBQr's Delight brand, with all that went with it (including inventory and packaging). It's my understanding that Yoder uses another pellet factory in Arkansas or SW Missouri. There's been lots of consolidation of BBQ businesses! Hard to keep up if you aren't active in it.
