22" Weber Kettle with SnS
Smoke Hollow 44" Propane
Tappecue Wifi Thermometer
Not Enough Free Time
I’ve tried a couple of them. Somewhere on the label they’re marked Gluten Free, and I’ve got to where I’ll buy one of anything that’s clearly marked GF, just to reward the manufacturer a little for making it clearly marked. They were good. Maybe not exceptional, but also not disappointing. If you’re at a big box store this brand should be a…reliable…pick.
Edit: I checked the pantry. I think I’ve had the Original. I currently have the Cajun. Their Cajun doesn’t have quite the flavor of the Slap your Mama brand but it’s close. If I choose between the two I pick Slap your Mama. If SWMBO picks, she picks Rib Rack.Last edited by Brian_M; January 23, 2024, 07:14 AM.

Pretty sure they are carrying this stuff at WalMart now. Or something similar, seems I've seen bottles that look like that on the shelf, with a bunch of different flavors. I haven't tried them, though. Might have to give them a try.
When it gets warm enough!

Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
My experience with ALL rubs is that none are better than any other. That’s not to say that they are all the same, and I’m not saying that I don’t prefer one over another; but there are just so many permutations of SPG plus other stuff that you can market, and in the end you’ll never be able to try them all. None of them will be bad; some you might like better than others; and the rest, well, you can mix them all together and use them like that.
Also, isn’t it interesting that after the big bbq buildup of the 90s, and then the explosion of the last 20 years, Lawry’s Seasoned Salt is getting mentioned more and more? As is McCormick’s Montreal Seasoning for SPG? It reminds me of the car detailing community: people will spend THOUSANDS of dollars on exotic waxes and sealants… but guess what? Kit Wax, used properly, does the exact same thing, and you can get it for $3 at Autozone.
Find something you like, and use it often. That’s what we said in detailing, and that applies here, too.
