Not sure this is right place but- Did a bunch of shotgun shells tonight
Doing them for the GA/FLA game Saturday. Smoked/cooked at 300 for hour and got my internal up to 165/ Inside is a 50/50 mix of ground beef and Italian sausage with cheese mixed in. Anyway, only way I have to reheat is to either beg embassy suites cook or use my little Webber. Betting on Webber. Was thinking a small batch of charcoal and bring as many up to temp as i can and just baste with a little BBQ sauce
Currently own:
Weber 22 and 26 Kettle.
Regular gasser with rotisserie.
Custom built horizontal stick burner.
Custom built duel fuel "whole hog" cooker.
Many other tools of the trade.
I'm guessing this is for a tailgate?
I think the weber is the best bet..
indirect if possible, and low heat.
Have some BBQ, or other, for dipping to combat any possible dryness...
Enjoy the game.
I've never been, but my brother tells me that SEC games/tailgates are always a blast regardless of which school the game is at..
If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I sincerely doubt you will get a hotel kitchen to reheat food prepared elsewhere. A microwave could work, on 50% power or less. Best bet if tailgating is a portable grill behind your car or truck. While charcoal is nice, I used to like my little portable rectangular gas grill as there was no charcoal mess or coals to wait to snuff out. I used it for quick grills when boating - would beach the boat on an island or river bank, and fire up the gas grill on the shore.
I thought the one I used to have was the Weber Go-Anywhere gas grill, but looking at that and the Charbroil portable gas grill, I think mine was the Charbroil, as it had wire grates. Those are dirt cheap too.
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
Seriously, thanks all. didn't see the responses b4 I left. Correct on the Hotel not helping. Were very nice, but health codes, etc. The junior Webber wasn't up to the task. just too many to do and too short a time. Might need to look into either a tailgate pellet or maybe the 18 in Smoke and Sear.
Really think these are best as a cook/serve immediately or so.
