Fun, interesting and crazy Fourth of July Apps?

Anyone have any fun, interesting, crazy and delicious appetizers to share for the holiday? Or anything you make every year that is a classic and a must for your Fourth Of July Festivities?

I like to make Pork Belly Burnt Ends every year. Every year, I like to try something new.....last year I did bacon wrapped Oreos, which were good but I do not think I will revisit them this year. So.....that being said, I am look for some ideas. I am curious to read what others are thinking.

Order a stuffed boneless chicken from Herbert's Specialty Meats in Maurice, La.

Don't tell anyone, slice everything up, and pretend you worked hard on cooking meat and stuffing.

TheAmazingJohnJ posted a great idea that I’m going to blatantly steal for the 4th. Jalapeño peppers stuffed with sausage and wrapped in bacon. I’ve never done em with sausage before but it sounds great. I’m gonna use some Jimmy Dean Spicy breakfast sausage for mine. If I have room I might add a little cream cheese too.

Well Panhead John I believe some people don't correlate buffalo turds with something to put in your mouth and eat. Bunch'a weirdos

Going to smoke moink balls (dead simple) for a church 4th picnic. Also doing SVQ spares for a kind neighbor who helped us move 15 yards of mulch with his tractor.

        Appy's, You want appy's. I got appy's.

Going with a black bean dip, a first for me.

Some Texas lollipops, using an artesian kielbasa wrapped in bacon and smothered in Blues Hog Tennessee Red.

And finally some of SteveB's soon to be famous Jalapeno Poppers.
Jalapeno's stuffed with a Carolina Reaper Cheddar cheese, wrapped in bacon and dusted with a ghost pepper rub.
These ain't for the faint of heart.

Why bother with the jalapenos? Are they there so you have something sweet in the mix?

I'm gonna remember this popper recipe when I get old enough I have to do colonoscopies. Seems like it'd work faster than the weird drink they give you. 😂

Probably Chicken Thighs over charcoal. Crispy skin but fall off the bone meat because that's how I like them. I'm hoping our Company likes them too. We're not sure on the full menu yet.

I’ve made kimchi nachos. There’s lots of recipes out there. I’ll see if I can find the one I’ve used a couple times. They’re delish.

I’ve been thinking about making chicken satay but haven’t got around to it.

I’ll be away this July 4th but one thing I really like doing is all sorts of different fillings in empanada shells. I buy the store bought empanada shells which you can either bake or fry

In addition to doing standard Argentinian type fillings, I also do buffalo chicken, pulled pork, pulled chicken, chorizo and potatoes, etc.

Spinaker - Exactly. I am not a huge fan of deep frying things so I like the empanada shell as it lets you bake them (but I do have a packet of egg roll wrappers in my freezer begging to be used).

Per you post below - I've had mac and cheese egg rolls from a food truck before and they were insane (and intense). I think it would be a crazy good app.

I am seriously considering doing brisket Mac N' Cheese egg rolls.

I might use some chuck instead of brisket, but I think I can pull this one off. Serve them with a asian inspired zing BBQ sauce. Now to find a Mac N' Cheese recipe.

We are heading to Jacksonville for the 4th so i'm not going to cook this holiday but my best friend, whom we're going down to see, just said he's planning a nice simple cookout........then showed me a picture of two bottles of Eagle Rare Bourbon, so it looks like we've got the main course figured out....HA!!
