When I make waffles at home, I have Vanilla extract, brown sugar, and cinnamon in my batter. I have played around with a few other ingredients, but this combination has been the best so far. If you get the ratios down, you don't need syrup, you can eat them straight off the griddle.
If you are getting into the waffle cones, you might think about getting a breakfast cone as well. Fried eggs, bacon, sausage, and cheese (preferably meats and cheese smoked to add something special) . Then you can really maximize the cone usage. Make big batches and still sell out.

This is a great idea. What about a waffle cone made out of corn masa? Then stuff with brisket and dirty rice. Or Pulled Pork, onions, cilantro etc, So basically a waffle taco. Hahahahaha
