I've been using the Ultimate Turkey recipe recommended by Meathead for the past couple of years. This was the one that introduced me to the Simon and Garfunkle rub. This year I see this recipe has changed and the S&G rub is no longer used. The new one utilizes a herb rub and a sage butter.
Has anyone done both? If so could you comment on your preference?

The Ultimate Turkey is located here. There is a new recipe for a spatchcocked turkey that Clint Cantwell just posted that uses the herb rub and sage butter. Is this what you are referring to?
Yes. Apparently I didn't do my homework on these two recipes. My bad. Still learning to navigate this beast. However, my question remains. Have any of you tried both and if so what did you think?
