    Last night's chicken

Did a couple of spatchcock Costco organic chickens on the W22 with the SnS (no water)and Weber briquettes. I used a generic rub called American BBQ Rub sold at our local grocery and added just 2 small chunks of cherry to the briquettes. Rotated from legs toward SnS 180° to Breast toward the heat the last 20 minutes. Took them to 160° IT and rested unwrapped for ten minutes. They had nice crispy skin and wonderfully juicy cherry wood kissed white and dark meat. Made chicken salad today with the leftovers.

I did not use my ET732 thermometer this time. The temp read between 425-500° on the in the lid thermometer directly over the SnS. I used an instant read on the chickens to gauge the cook.

Thanks. Yes, lightly smoked chicken salad is good.

Looks great, the birds cook so good that way. What to you think of the Weber charcoal? I have been using Kingsford forever but was thinking of giving them a try.

I've used KBB and the Competition with good results before. This was my first cook with the Weber Briquettes and I can say I really like them. They burn hotter than KBB and very clean. Less smoke when they are first lit to when they ash over.

Picture perfect, NortheastAl . If the SnS had a magazine, that would be on the cover. Congrats on a great cook.
