    Fried Chicken Week

    It's nice living in a food-centric city. This week was Fried Chicken Week which wasn't even on my radar. I guess that's my excuse for only doing one restaurant.

    I opted for the Boke Bowl fried chicken bao. I liked it, but expected more flavor. 6/10 for me, the other people I was with rated it a 7/10. The chicken itself was perfectly fried.

    Here's their regular menu board. I have actually never eaten here outside of a food week. I definitely want to come try their regular fare sometime soon.

        Yes, fried chicken is the best. If I eat it once a year I'm lucky, we just do our best to avoid fried foods, unfortunately.

          It would have if I had my stuff together. But this one snuck up on my so I just did one token stop. Maybe next year I'll manage to rally.

        The bao looks a little over portioned for that chicken? Bao on it's own really doesn't have that much flavor and I wonder if they had used a smaller or thinner bun that more flavor might have shined? Cool concept though.

          You have a point. I also think more sauce would have bridged that gap too. I used their house sauce but it introduced a new flavor not really in life ne with the sandwich.

        I do love fried chicken but I don’t think it could eat it every day for a week. Burgers, sure, fried chicken no.

          I ended up eating fried chicken for lunch three days in a row last week. I love it, but it was getting a little weird by the third day.

          I'm not seeing this as a technique I'm going to adopt. I don't think it would be fun to clean the wok afterwards.
