Last Saturday was our 7th annual Wings of Death Challenge / Wingfest. It was a great time as always.
Friday I picked up 80 lbs of jumbo cut party wings and 20 lbs of whole wings for $230.
I packaged up all the cut wings in bags of 12 pieces and separate the flats and drummers. I ended up with 32 dozen wings. These wings were quite “Jumbo”

We just had our new refrigerator delivered earlier in the day last Friday so I broke it in with 80 lbs. of wings.
Here are the 12 sauces I chose for the wing challenge.

They ranged from 1800 scoville units for the Hot Ones Classic Buffalo Hot Sauce on the left to 2,693,000 scoville units for The Last Dab Xperence on the right. I’ll post a review of these sauces later in this post.
Here is the button one could get if they finished all 12 wings.

I decided on a fire tornado for the theme since last year during Wingfest there was a tornado warning. This year we had beautiful weather.
Here was my set up Saturday for cooking the wings.

Three 4 liter deep fryers above and all the wings below.
My PIC for Wingfest ran three dedicated circuits so we could use all three deep fryers without tripping breakers.

We started out with 28 participants and all 28 lasted through the first 9 sauces.
Here is my other PIC for Wingfest enjoying one of the early wings.

Here is his son after receiving the wing with Da Bomb on it. He knows what’s coming next.

The band showed up and played us through the final 5 wings.

There were only 12 of us who finished all 12 wings this year. Sauces 8 - 12 were especially brutal this year. I took a lot of SH*T last year for the challenge being too easy. I made sure I didn’t make the same mistake this year. 😈

We are looking forward to next year for the 8th annual challenge.
