I went shopping yesterday and stocked up a little. Prices were fairly normal at that time.

We have most of the turkeys over here in ENC... there's tons of already frozen birds and plenty fattening up on the farms.

Today the HEB pantry near me had thighs and drumsticks for $0.99/lb, the lowest I've seen in awhile. The big HEB has them for $1.49/lb.

Most of the plants are back up and running. I think 5 out of 6 are back up. Just have to load up the hatcheries and rebuild some houses.

I've just started a weight management program with1300 calories a day, with a higher protein. Chicken breast is one of the protein they recommended. They even took away my chicken wings.

It works! This is kind of out of left field but tame rabbit is just as good as chicken and may be available locally at a much lower price. Rabbit is lean but takes to being brined beautifully.

At the grocery store last Saturday. 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, $12. I noticed that the Halal section was looking quite sparse.
