That’s beautiful, I hate to admit it but I buy Lawry’s by the 5 pound tub. If you ever want a nice change of flavor, rub some Old Bay under the skin. It’s really good.

hoovarmin You can rub it all over. It just seems to add more flavor under the skin. The way I first discovered this was using the old Adam’s Cajun seasoning. It tasted like old bay. When they changed their formula I just switched to old bay. If you want just a bit of a kick a little red pepper goes well with it.

I love Old Bay. Going on Instacart to order some chicken now...

Lawry’s seasoned salt is the main ingredient in my All Purpose Rub. Grew up on Lawry’s. Great stuff.

If I was going to add Lawry's to my mixture of 1 part salt, 1 part black pepper and 1/2 part garlic, how much salt and garlic should I leave out to add 1 part Lawry's?

That is a good question and has no exact answer. Lawry's is extremely salty. and it has a fine grind.
I apply Lawr's separately, and last. By seasoning light, over-seasoning may be avoided.
Let us know what you come up with. Thanks, in advance

Remember that Lawry's seasoned salt already has garlic, onion and other spices. I would mix gradually until you like the taste if mixing.

Looks good! When I do chicken wings seasoned salt is the only spice I use - I dry brine the wings with it overnight or at least for a few hours, before hitting the grill. Never thought to combine it with other spices.

I think my current big shaker from Sam's Club is actually Morton Season-All though, as they stopped carrying the Lawry's that I like.

Pretty much every week growing up we would have a roast chicken seasoned with Johnny's Seasoning Salt (very similar to Lawry's) for dinner. Always one of my favorite meals but we only cooked one chicken for a family of 5 and my parents would take the breasts, my brother and sister would get the drumsticks, so I was always left with a thigh or back. Little did I know back then that the thighs were better than all the other pieces.

I enjoy the wings best also, too.

I always go for thigh, leg and wing when we buy fried chicken or I cut up a whole chicken...
