Is this something that just can't be had? Am I going to have to buy a whole bird and just carve out what I want? Anyone?

Pulled Turkey?
This is something that's been kicking around in my head since the beginning of summer. Has anyone ever slow smoked a turkey portion to make pulled turkey, much like you would a pork butt? I don't want to do a whole turkey, something like a large boneless breast would be ideal but I can't find them uncooked anywhere, they're all precooked and mostly presmoked. I've checked all of the local grocery stores and butcher shops but they all look at me like I've got a screw loose when I tell them what I'm looking for.

Many people do pulled chicken. Cook until done and shred it. Turkey just a big chicken. Both precocial, both belong to the Order Galliformes.
Gallus domesticus
Meleagris gallopavo

I know I make damn good BBQ cause my 3 dogs have NEVER said no to it. (OTOH, my 13yr old says no to just about everything, except my ribs.)
For what it's worth, leftover smoked turkey makes a GREAT chili, it just falls apart in the cooker like pulled pork. Just chunk it up a bit in 1/2" or 3/4" cubes. Works just as well for enchiladas or taquitos, it just naturally shreds.
