The FDA says these are not considered healthy cereals

This list is weird, since for the most part these cereals are considered -- if not "healthy", then at least "better for you than others"
    • Kellogg's Raisin Bran (9g of added sugars) --- btw, we prefer Kellogg's over Post's
    • Honey Nut Cheerios (12g of added sugars) --- if it matters, Frosted Cheerios are delightful, and made with the same heart-healthy whole grains as regular Cheerios.
    • Kellogg's Corn Flakes (300mg of sodium; 4g of added sugars) - if they're not frosted, they're not GREEEEAT!
    • Honey Bunches of Oats, Honey Roasted (8g of added sugars)
    • Frosted Mini Wheats (12g of added sugars) --- fine, not a surprise here regarding the frosted side.
    • Life (8g of added sugars) --- but, but.... Mikey Likes It! Hey Mikey!
    • Special K (270mg of sodium; 4g of added sugars) -- looks like they're going to need to change their advertising campaign

Yay!! Crunch Berries and Fruity Pebbles are not listed! Winning!

full disclosure: haven’t had either of those cereals since my age was in single digits. But I remember them! The best was when the milk turned pink.

Crunch berries are the best, I still get them once a year... I tried getting my daughter to like them, but she cant do milk so avoids all cereals.

Most of the breakfast cereal's are loaded with sugar. That's why they taste so good. And why I do not eat them.

          Had life this morning!
Trix was my favorite with short lived apple frosted mini wheats before the bite size ‘mini’ wheats.

The FDA just might have gotten this one right. Don’t see that every day

On the other hand, anyone who doesn’t already know this isn’t going to be reading FDA reports. "Donuts are bad for you!" No s***, Sherlock. But I’m already in line.

While I don't particularly like cereal, I do eat it a couple of times a week usually. That info is why I generally only have either Grape-Nuts or Shredded Wheat...only sugar is what I add. Twice a year or so I'll get something else for variety. Although I do love Frosted Mini Wheats...

This from the organization that for decades has recommended sugar filled "light" versions of foods. "That little bit of sugar in Raisin Bran is horrible!" Right.

Highly processed and filled with sugar and sodium. Seems about right. I love cereal but don't buy it because I would rather reach for something less processed.

Whole Milk, eggs, coffee, red meat, etc. are all on the this list of what the experts tell you is\was bad for you. Anything can be bad if overdone. Moderation is the key.

It's worth noting experts also say all of those things are good for you. If you look at it right, moderation can be fun because it allows you to eat what you want.
