I had been busy for the last three weeks, and had been neglectful of my sourdough starter. It was a good starter, been going for a few months and had great flavour......
Notice I’m using the past tense?
Last night, I decided to mix the starter up well, and pour out all but a half cup, and feed it to revive it for some bread this morning.
My wife was letting out the dog, and we were chatting while I was pouring out the starter. After I had poured it out, I ran the tap to flush it down the drain.
Still talking to my wife, I then proceeded to run chlorinated tap water into the jar containing the remaining starter!
*sigh*
I suppose the new starter I got going this morning will be good to go in about a week. ðŸ™
