They ran completely out of bread at all the area supermarkets. I mean, completely. Then I remembered, I can make my own! Pesky little storm is not going to stop me from having my daily bread!
I did my homework and plucked a recipe out of my old Cook's Bible. (Always loved that book.) Found a dependable one, the no-knead, stand mixer version. Actually you do knead it, but only to get it into the pan after one rising. But it is the results that make it worth the effort. I haven't baked for an embarrassing number of years, but I really wanted to do this. I did not want to go without bread for as long as this storm is likely to last.
I certainly hope it taste as good as it looks:
