It was so cool watching her teach her mom how to bake these!
Her own recipe. Taught her to bake by weight not volume. Showed off her new digital scale and explained that real bakers measure by weight!!!

I come from a family who try to wing it… and they tend to say from time to time…, “I don’t know what happened to the biscuits.”

I weigh my ingredients and they tend to be the same every time…

So I had a fire alarm today after a sprinkler pipe froze and burst. The fire fighters had just sat down to lunch when they got the alarm. Those guys are so awesome!
Anyway I had a chance to visit a while with Cap while his team verified the alarm and he asked about my kiddo ( he’s a life long friend of our family) and I told him telling would not do it justice. They had 2 dozen of those cookies waiting on the table when they got back! As soon as I called home they jumped in the car and drove the 6 blocks to the station and deliver them.

She came home from class one day, walked into my shop, sat down on a bench and said “ Pop I just dropped out of college” I asked her what her plans were and she said “ Ive wasted enough time, Im gonna get started on life.” Next day she enrolled in culinary school.

Smart girl. My 20 year old, when she graduated high school, sheepishly told me she didn't want to go to college. I said "what's the plan?" She said "I'm going to work for a high end salon in Ponte Vedra Beach and enroll in the Paul Mitchell school in a year if I still like the job." She will finish at Paul Mitchell by summer with zero debt and making 6 figures at the age of 20. Her dumb dad stayed in school til he was 24 and graduated with a $29k student loan, which was a lot in 1994.
