Popeye’s Red Beans And Rice?

Does anyone have a copycat recipe for Popeye’s red beans and rice? I know they’re out there, but I’d prefer one that’s earned a 👍 from someone around here. Thanks.

This one generally gets good reviews and correctly calls for real red beans, instead of the way too commonly used kidney beans. I have not tried it though.

Yep! But, there’s a lot of recipes for red beans n rice and they tell you to use kidney beans! 😳 🙄 I’ve seen people serve red beans n rice and they’ve used kidney beans. I guess some people think because kidney beans are red that “that’s red beans”…..🙄

I think Popeye’s red beans are great, but the one thing I dislike is there are two few whole beans IMO.

I went on a quest for that a long time ago, and I think Troutman posted a recipe a while back.
The problem is the copycat recipes don't have commercial ingredients in them. I did some research and found the list of ingredients used, then I didn't bother trying. I wish I could. Love them Red Beans from Popeye's.
