Cranberry beans from Quincy. Wa. May be same RG buys. Made tomato marinara and fennel "recipes". Added mushrooms and mild Italian sausage to tomato version. Used Rao's marinara. Both excellent, nontechnical. No IP in sight! (You know who you are.) Had never fooled with fennel. Caramelization really changes it, to sweet.

I saw that recipe too, Phil, and wondered about the fennel. I love fennel in salads.
But I dislike sweetness in savory dishes, so thought that the caramelized fennel would be too much. So whaddya think about the overall sweetness level in your version of the "recipe"? Curious IP mavens want to know.
