I used to neither drain nor rinse. Now I don’t use canned beans. fzxdoc and the rest of the Rancho Gordo hegemonists here have converted me to fresh beans.
Interesting way to phrase the question. ASSUMES you are using beans when making chili, only inquires as to how. I have only occasionally added beans to my chili. Best I can remember I drained and rinsed each time.

I'm siding with my good friends from TX on this one...I thought beans in chili was wrong from about age five to now. The good people of TX just give me permission to omit the nasty beans from my tasty chili! God Bless Texas.
